In essence mindfulness is an action, a state of awareness and openness—a commitment to yourself to connect with the present. To let go of the past and enjoy the present without worry of the future. The practice promotes the fostering of curiosity rather than judgement and embraces self-awareness and self-care.
Mindfulness can be practised through meditation and mindful exercises which help to develop your ability to stay ‘in the moment’ and restore clarity and peace. But it is also practised in the simplicity of the everyday.

The beauty of mindfulness is that it does not require anything but your mind. If you have the time and space to meditate or complete a mindfulness exercise then that is fantastic. But if you only have a few moments, that is ok too. Like physical exercise the more you practice, the more you benefit, but every little moment taken is of value.
Why practice mindfulness?
A common theme of our modern life is busyness. We are always rushing, and once you add kids into the mix of life…well it just gets faster and crazier! Mindfulness is a practise that prompts you to slow down. To take a moment to notice what is around you, to be present. It is tough, I’m not going to lie! When life is so full, it is difficult to remind ourselves to stop and enjoy the moment.

It comes down to this—how do you want to remember your life?
Do you want to look back and remember how busy you were? Of course not!
Do you want to remember connecting with gratitude to your friends and family? Hell to the yeah!

Mindfulness is a commitment to ourselves to live a life of intent and gratitude. So let’s do it together, and get going with some mindful living!
